Abstract
The study aimed to identify the role of strategic planning among educational leaders in Jordan. The study sample consisted of 351 individuals, including 170 department heads, 14 directorate managers, and 167 school principals, who were randomly selected from employees of the Ministry of Education in Jordan. To achieve the study's objectives, a questionnaire consisting of 20 items was developed. After verifying its validity and reliability, the questionnaire was applied to the study sample. The results showed that the overall mean for the role of strategic planning among educational leaders in Jordan was high. Additionally, the results indicated that the overall mean for the leadership practices among all leaders in the Ministry of Education was also high. The study revealed significant statistical differences at the level of (a=0.05) between genders in favor of males, and no significant statistical differences at the level of (a=0.05) were found related to job titles. The study recommended several recommendations, the most important of which is to strengthen continuous training programs for educational leaders to enhance strategic planning skills and make sound decisions in light of increasing challenges.
